Andrew Ashenden

Andrew Ashenden is an Equity Registered Fight Director and the current Chairperson for the Register, and a Registered Fight Teacher and Examiner with the Actors Combat Theatrical Training (A.C.T.T). With 30 years’ experience in choreographing fights for stage and screen throughout the UK and Europe, including for The National Theatre, Birmingham Rep, BBC and Welsh National Opera. The author of “Basics of Stage Combat: Unarmed” and “Basics of Stage Combat: Single Sword” (Universal Publishing) and in the process of producing a second edition of each book. 

 

Andrew is the Resident Fight teacher for GSA the last 27 years and also currently teach at The Bridge Theatre Training Company, Aberdeen College of Performing Arts, University of Lincoln, Coventry University Group Scarborough and have taught at a number of drama schools and universities, as well as being an external examiner.
